You can try a photo host like Photobucket or webshots.
I frequent other forums that don't allow for uploads and that way I can share my pictures. http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n...e/IM000514.jpg things are a bit slow today...downloading stuff while surfing...my poor machine is a bit on the small side...(and virus scan is waiting in the wings...yiekes)

Hello,
If you don't mind Mr. B I'll go ahead and answer a few of these -I have 25 years experience in the Songahm, Chang Hon, and Hwa-Rang styles of Taekwondo. And I also have experience in Judo, Largo Mano Escrima and Modern Arnis Quote:
As for martial arts, in general they teach Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control, Humility, how to deal with others, Self Defense - all points are key to a successful life. I love teaching. The technique of passing on information has been the most rewarding technique that I have ever had to practice. There is so much difference in teaching a 3 year old, then a 10 year old, then a 15 year old, then a 30 year old, and finally a 60 year old....it is such a challenge. As for physical techniques I love hook kicks and side kicks. There are a bunch of variations from multiple kicks to aerial kicks to combos with hands - those two kicks alone are tops in my book. The twist kick, some like it others don't. It's a messy kick to teach and can cause serious knee problems if not taught correctly. Also spear hands, in a real situation would one really use it? Not I. I like both, and in an ATA or ITF based system you will use both, a bunch. I can't speak for a WTF based system - but from what I see they tend to kick more. If I'm on the inside I punch, the outside I kick. Yes, I do prefer forms over sparring. The ATA forms (Songahm) are outstanding forms, the Chang Hun Ryu (ITF) forms are good till Black Belt then they are great at Black Belt, look up the form Moon Moo on Youtube if you have a chance it's a 4th Dan form - just a great form. And I can't say anything about the WTF color belt forms but the Black Belt forms are not all that bad at first but as you become higher rank - they do start to lack in technique a bit. Why do I like forms over sparring? I just do. I love forms. Hope my answers help a bit. You can see that I'm a big ITF/ATA fan when it comes to TKD technique, not to say anything bad about the WTF but I just don't have ay interest in sport style martial arts.

Yeah, Huntley. Moon Mu on youtube - thanks. This girl (seen training with Choi himself elsewhere), has some mean leg control!
By the way, thanks for coming through for a fellow martial artist - the General would be proud. I don't practice Tae Kwon Do myself, but I've always admired it's beauty and culture. Peace. |

I am running a little low on coffee still so I am taking things out of order....
Sparring vs forms...it depends on the mood (I am a moody female you know )I love forms, done right they give you a workout and a half, keep both mind and body busy. My favorite was and is (my old) blue Belt form...I have not used the old names in over a year....Won Ho I believe (I hate green/Do San, but I am getting pretty good at teaching it) I prefer to kick...'She got legs and knows how to use them' I am lacking upper body strength and really hate to collect punches - up until a little over a year ago I actually sparred with glasses...don't want to get hit...My favorite technique would have to be a spin back fist. First, learning it in my most hated form it threw me off...but after I accidentally almost connected with it in free sparring I can appreciate the power it develops! And I didn't mean to throw it, it was a rather passive thing. least favorite....hmmmm crescent kicks out of a backstance...especially when still warming up, the mechanic of this kick just does not sit well with me... I am pretty neutral about which style form is better, each choreography has it's purpose and as such is valuable...some have changed over time, some a lot...of course there are elements in the forms that are ancient, I guess unless you are fighting somebody with a fullfaced motorcycle helmet a spear hand is pretty obsolete...and when do you get to 'pick the peach' in a sparring match?!
