Just Being Honest...Bri
BrokenElbow I never said that the TKD was all incompassing with takedowns and clench work etc etc.. However you will find that some TKD schools crosstrain. I would love to find a school that did all that stuff and I have trained in some JKD where we trained in all areas however the sparring sessions were few and far between. |

I have heard alot about these cross-training TKD school and never beleived it but had the priveledge recently to visit one. The class trained in TKD, Judo, and JJ. The TKD was your regular garden variety TKD school but the Judo and JJ classes were pretty good. If I had to go to a TKD school I would go to something like that where I could cross train in something like Judo, JJ, MT, or BJJ.

Hello There.
I have been a WTF TKD student for 16-17 months now and am just beginning to look at cross-training possibilities.....in fact I went to a BJJ lesson yesterday (quite cheap £7 for an hour and a half). The reason being is that my TKD club (at least the main instructor) has a mainly kick orientated style of training so from my own opinion is that an art like BJJ balances into this quite nicely. Opinions? Adam. |
