i've studied wing chun(formal) for bout 1 year. most of it started with books until i met my father. after 1 hour with him i realized there are so many options like in kempo or twisting tiger or even savate. proper perception/anticipation of the tech. must be seen first b4 even blocking. then once you've latched on. i go with ti chi energy concepts to force open the line or re-direct the attack to unseen open lines. i want to prove that this still, given its rigid structure can help in the defense...

I have learned nothing by picking and choosing. The system had to be studied in whole, in order to learn the ''why-when-and how! I've tried many different styles and their blocking technique's, and no one set has any right over the others. In all my years in the mixed martial arts, blocks have been geared towards thai fighting ''U.F.C.'', since people have this notion that they only need to strike with the strongest tool in their arsenal. But on the other hand when i was learning the systems approach...
