Fighting, Spirituality, and Martial Arts

Primarily, by millenium practice and definition, martial arts is about physical conflict, fighting.

Four questions to ponder and answer;

1.) But why is it that religion, such as Taosim, Buddhsim, Hinduism, seem to partake within its structure?

2.) How does one obtain a manner of spiritualty by obtaining a manner of fighting prowess?

3.) Why are the spiritual aspects of martial arts considered pusillanimous?

4.) Is it about fighting and kicking butt? Or about refraining from fighting and kicking butt?

Can anyone answer these?

1) In order to survive it was necessary, often monks acted as peace keepers in their time, peacekeeping requires the threat and/or use of force.

2)By perfecting a skill.

3) Incorrect use of english here. rephrase question, hard to know exactly what you mean.

4)WHat you mean to ask is martial arts about fighting or only fighting when needed.

I dont like this question either, seems pointless. people will use it for whatever they want. is martial arts for fitness or fighitng is it for spirituality or for fighting is it for comradeship or fighting, is it about fighting without fighting.
it is whatever it means to you.

In my opinion, its strictly about survival.

Predators attack prey that they preceive to be weak. Since the religions of Taoism, Buddhism and Hinduism stress peace and tolerance, followers of said religions are also assumed to be timid, weak and target for predatorial behavior.

Thus, people associated with these religions learned how to defend themselves with weapons and empty-handed methods.

By making the unknown become known.

Getting punched square in the face, tackled or thrown will make some people sh!t their pants - martial arts provides violence innoculation; a gradually increasing level of violence to help practitioners be able to act and attack in situations that normally cause people to freeze. Same with weapon arts like silat and kali - training with short staffs and blades.

Both.

If you have the ability to fight and kick butt, you have just a little bit of power that can improve the chance of you surviving different kinds of circumstances...but just enough power to get yourself killed.

Despite how small that power is, you have to yield it with responsibility, which means having the patience and self-control to use your art only when yours or someone's life is depending on it.
