Default Muhammed ali

As a muslim, i cant help but love ali, since he seemed to show great respect for islam after he won like saying "Thanks to allah, i won" but thats not the point of my thread........

Was his tactic of taunting opponents really effective? I mean, would it still work in a martial arts atmosphere? Most martial artists do meditation so they would feel no fear as they fought. Would taunting the guy into a rage, or teasing him so that he loses confidence work in a thai arena? Or better yet, a real fight?

Absolutely. Just look at the results.

Yes again, and mentally fu$king with someone works even better outside the ring. The mind guides the body. Many, many fighters have been taken out of their game through intimidation, be it verbal or otherwise.

Pppbbbbbbbttttt!! Nonsense. Martial arts magic at work again . Everyone feels some fear if they are faced with a real challenge. In the ring, it's butterflies and adrenaline. Look at how many fighters puke their guts out before a bout. In real life? No fear? Do me a favor and send one of your high school wrestling buddies to the local sensei. You'll his "I fear nobody" attitude disappear as he gets smacked around.

Depends on who you are dealing with. Mike Tyson? No. I'd rather fight a calm and collected Iron Mike than the mad dog of old that dominated many champions. Some guys? Sure it would work. In real life, taunting is a bad idea. The "victim" will likely get fed up and show you just how much of an *insert insult* he is. In real life, you usually act submissive to open up a preemptive strike.

i agree with ryan. when people are giving me shit i bug out my eyes and talk shit like crazy. but really in the inside i am calm and i am intuned with my training. not only that if you intiminate your opponent there is a good chance he won't want to fight. because 90% of the time people are just putting on a front. now this doesn't mean just go around and pick fight lol. in a sense you must be like the frog . but yes you have to bull shit and be calm at the same time
