I really think that what music to listen to depends on what you are training. For example, training in a striking art I would want something that will get my blood flowing - like the songs a lot of you listed. For something like rolling in BJJ I want something smooth - R&B or Hiphop.

Then again, my instructor occasionally leaves his music on when we train and we get some interesting music - like the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. I don't know if any of you have tried to do randori to it, but it definately provokes a different type of Judo.

Im just getting back into martial arts and such, and anything heavy, trance, metal, techno etc. I like most music, so it really doesnt matter to me. One of my favourites would be: Flashback (Original Club Mix) by Alphazone.

Best song of the 90's

The Script for my Requiem - Blind Guardian

Still I hear the scream of thousands
"Crucify, crucify
Take it all
our gold, our home, our life,
but we didn't kill your Christ!!
Reach out for your holy grail
enslave us and make us
your god's sacrifice!!"

Any In Flames song for me. Especially 'Dial 595-Escape,' there's just something about the rhythm and tempo of that song. Sometimes when I practice my Thai stance I always step and circle my fists to the beat of that song.
