![]() ![]() ![]() | But isn't it ironic to see the SHITE they are proposing as "self defence"? Stupid reactions to grabs, that only work if the "attacker" agrees to stand still long enough. I havent read the whole book, just the choice bits of crap they out in a recent edition of Grappling magazine. The Gracies are to self defence what Adolf Hitler was to pacifism. |

![]() | Now now, Bri. They do mention that the defenses to knife and gun techniques are what you might wanna do if you have no other choice. The book didn't really present anything new, and I would desperately search for another option before using any of the defenses against weapons. I gave that book away to someone as a b-day gift

![]() | I've seen a few of those defences, and they remind me of some of the defences in the Bruce Lee's Fighting Method book (the self defence one). The thing about those books are they are two dimensional, and don't take other variables into play.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Putting weapons/fireamrs issues aside. That shit doesn't even work against unarmed attacks. They miss the whole point. You cannot have a list of tricks i.e. "if he does this you twist that" mentality. You will never male them work. All you can do is have a small number of techniques with a high number of applications. |

![]() | Teaching 'self defense' out of a book is a bad idea. Learning 'self defense' out of a book is a worse idea. Seeing naked pictures of Bri Thai in a 'self defense' book is the worst idea. |
