I know that kodokan Judo features atemiwaza, but would anyone with experience of judo suggest the best throw sweep etc for a stand-up self defence situaltion?

I think the sweeps and trips are best, like Ashi barai and O'soto Gari variations.
But I saw Neil Adams do Tai O toshi on a guy on the TV once. He looked like a train splattering a peanut. I was awesome. Whatever you choose, train it so well that you're brilliant at it. |
