I WOULD ESTIMATE THAT MAYBE 10-15% OF THOSE WHO GIVE THERE TWO CENTS ARE LEGITIMATE PLAYERS WHO CONTRIBUTE TO THIS FORUM...I'LL SEE A POST ABOUT WHO'S GOING TO THE MACHADO TOURNEY...OR WHOSE GONNA COMPETE AT JOE MORERAS' TOURNAMENT..THAT WILL GET ONE POST... BUT IF I POST A QUESTION LIKE I.E."WHO WOULD WIN IN A FIGHT, RICKSON GRACIE OR THE BACK STREET BOYS..?" THAT WILL GET 1000 HITS AND 50 RESPONSES......OR IF I POST," BUSH VS. GORE.. WHOSE GOT THE BIGGEST CORN DOG..?" THAT WILL GENERATE A FRENZY OF INTEREST AND RESPONSES......I DON'T GET IT.....I'M OUT....

I tend to read more than I post and have really enjoyed the forum for several years. Lately, there seem to be fewer posts and an overall lower quality. I'm not sure what has happened. Did we lose a bunch of folks in the re-registration process? Did guys get torqued because they lost credit for hundreds of posts (I lose everytime there is a change)? Have we already hashed out all the major issues? I hope things will build back up.

I agree. I've been lurking for years, and feel that the level of distilled, coherent MMA/BJJ-related thought has fallen noticeably over the last year, and indeed even in the last few months. The overall environment of this forum is no longer one in which MA-related technical information is discussed, but rather that of a mundane chat dungeon in which high-schoolers with no friends come for social support. I don't think that the number of knowledgeable posters on this forum is as high as it used to be. The people I do consider knowledegable who are still around are either strangely silent or also getting weird in their contributions.

Bush vs. Gore, eyebrow waxing, queer baiting, and discussions of fave movies/bands are topics I'll bite into with gusto when the subject comes up in casual conversation. However, I for one don't check out the forum to become a more rounded person in these areas, nor do I think knowledge of these areas will help me on the mat, in the ring, or on the street. Considering I am here for martial arts, the above not only bores me but it wastes my time; as a result my interest in this forum has dropped dramatically.

I don't know why this is happening to this forum and I can't change it, but I wish I could.
