... not really, but I read an interview with Funaki who said that he kicked Rickson agressively on the floor but got kicked himself as well and one of Rickson's knee kicks busted his knee so it was unstable and next time Rickson tried a takedown over that leg, he could no longer defend himself and was thrown. Apart from Renzo's KO on Taktarov, this is the only time I have heard of anyone causing damage from the buttscoot, and I am really impressed. I am a Rickson basher and I still think haven't faced top NHB competition, and he will lose if he did, but he DOES impress me a little. He is probably the most dangerous 40+ man on the planet, and one of the best middleweight grapplers still. I don't like the guy, but this is the slack I cut him. Now, I want to see him lose.

Funaki is a total nutcase, by the way. I will post the interview some time.

Spice, I'm very glad that you posted this; it's a welcome show of maturity and smartness that someone recognize the strong points on another one, even if he didn't praise him.

I assure you that this is a rare quality in martial arts world, and, for what I can see, it's spreading in this forum, setting it apart from the UG, where factions pro or against someone are almost feuds.

I'm not a rickson fan too, but I would be blind to not appreciate his deep technical knowledge and his grace under pressure. He is accused of not have faced the best competition, but I think Rickson is an abstute businessman...

Rickson lookes great in that fight. Funaki is tough, and guys like Frank Shamrock were quoted as saying Rickson would lose that fight.

When Rickson was butt-scooting, and Funaki was kicking him, you could sense that Rickson was getting pissed off. Once he got back to his feet, he looked more determined.

Funaki received a severe, methodical asskicking.

According to a reliable source, Rickson was jacked on horse tranquilizers for that fight because apparently the night before he had to remove his own appendix with nothing more than a plastic comb and a pair of chopsticks.

After this post, I expected to get eaten alive by the self-voted troll police. I am glad that didn't happen. Often, a bad way of putting the words is enough to be called a troll and not be taken seriously. By the way, I got Col. 2000 today! Can't wait to see it...
