![]() | I am selling my Bubba grappling dummy, and am wondering if anyone is interested. While I loved Bubba,I really dont have any use for it anymore. Not only am I working 6-7 days a week, but I am not going to a martial arts school, and have real training partners.I realized that I had only used the thing about 8 or so times in the last month, when I use to use it an hour to two hours a day.And as I already mentioned I have training partners who love grappling as much as I do,so its I can get alot of practice in. Since I am writing this,I might as well give my review on the thing. Truthfully,I loved the thing.Once I made myself a dummy, where I filled up a shirt, pants and hat with old clothes and sowed them together. This thing could not even come close to competing with the bubba dummy. As everyone probably has heard before, all the body parts move in natural positions. For instance when doing an armbar, once you have the arm all the way straight,it will have lots of tension, just like a regular arm.Another great benefit is that you can use bubba anytime, anywhere and for as long as you want. You can beat the crap out of this thing, put a thousand locks as hard as you want on it,and you never hear him complain. I myself loved the Guard position,so for every workout I would do always do 50 armbars from the closed guard, and 50 Cross Gi Chokes along with whatever I worked on that day.Sometimes on the weekend,I would do more, but this was average on weekdays. I try to keep good details on my workouts, and I figured that After having this thing for about half a year,I had put over 4000 armbar's and cross Gi choke's on it. In turn, after rolling with quite a few people lately,I would say that all the armbar's and Gi Choke's have paid off, because they have definantly been the highest percentage sub's for me(for the record I have very little training in an actual class). And bubba is still in great shape. While the are lot of pro's to the Bubba, there are a few con's.First, the thing does not stand very good.It is almost impossible to do takedown's on it,and throw's are pretty hard to do.It is not to hard to do slam's on though, and it gives you a pretty good workout. The other cons are that you can't roll with him like you would a real opponent, and that bubba obviously cant tap out.Beside these things,Bubba is a great training partner. I am selling him for $475,and this include's shipping. This is a saving's of $85(Bubba cost $500 plus $60 for shipping in the US,exluding Hawai). The real benefit of buying bubba from me is how long it take's to receive it.It took me a long time to decide to buy the Bubba dummy, because it said it could take 8-10 weeks. This really discouraged me,and I was hoping it would not take that long.Well it took a total of 9 weeks, which was a very long time to wait(for the record,if you send out for a bubba today, you would not receive it 'till the middle of april, maybe even early may).Since I dont have to worry about backorders like they do,Bubba would arrive in about 2 weeks. Well anyway,If anyone is interested,I prefer a money order, but will accept a check.I will only ship in america, and to my knowledge some state's like hawai the shipping cost alot more,so I would have to charge a bit more. If anyone is interested,Email me at Gjordon@webtv.net Also, for those people out there who has no training video's or does not go to a grappling school,I will throw in 5 BJJ video's from Kazeka Munis for $25. The video's are: Takedown technique's Fighting from the bottom Fighting from the top fighting combinations 1 and 2. For the beginner, this is excellent material, for the intermediate or advanced, its just okay. What you will learn on these tape's is how to properly apply the basic techniques, the technique's that every grappler must have Down to have a strong foundation. For instance from the Guard you will learn the armbar(from the closed and open guard), some basic chokes, the guillotine choke, the kimura ETC .For the Beginner, this is a good place to start, because these are the techniques you will use most, even as a blackbelt. For the record, these video's retail for $29.99 I believe, but you can get 5( or maybe 6) for $100.With all the great video's out today, they are not really worth this much, but for the excellent detail, and the fact that all these tape's are the original's and in excellent condition, they are definantly worth $25. Once again if anyone is interested, email me at Gjordon@webtv.net Thanks in advance. |
