![]() | What type of clinch? How are you trying to unbalance them? What type of takedowns are you attempting?

![]() | Don't try to for them to unbalance, let them unbalance themselves. Lean in a little, if they push back then they are off balance and ready to be thrown. If they lean away, they are ready to be swept. Play off what they give you. |

So you don't suggest that I try to push or pull them tounbalance but to check their stance for flaws? And kengar, they don't necessarily have to be unbalanced first, unbalancing just makes it easier. For instance, a double leg takedown can be done with them in full balance.

![]() | If he clinches you with a standard neck and collar tie: 1. grab the crook of the elbow that's on your neck (from the outside) and pull it into your chest to trap that arm. 2. Break the grip that he has on your arm and push up into that side armpit with your free hand. (steps 2 and 3 will load his weight into one foot) From here you can step thru with a reap, sweep the weighted leg, or turn your back and throw him over your leg. OR 1. Drive in under the arm that has your neck and take the underhook (grab the back of his neck) 2. Step to the side so you hae one foot on either side of his leg. 3. Pull hard on the other arm to 'wrap him up' and prevent him from fighting back effectively 4. Work for the hip toss or Ho Ti kick out (Uchimata) Oh! You can also throw a Thai roundhouse to the leg, plant the foot and then sweep the same leg. BAM-BAM! From prumb 1. snake one hand through the inside of his prumb and clamp down into the crook of his elbow 2. Use your other hand to push up oin his other elbow 3. Push up on the elbhow and pull down on the crook to break hius balance from here you have the same options as the first example Also for the prumb you can push up hard on both his elbows then DROP STRAIGHT DOWN (don't shoot) for a double or single.

![]() | Standard neck clinch. Over/Under sets you up more for hip throws and pick ups.
