Default The lowdown on BJJ

OK i,m new on this forum and know basically nothing about BJJ. If someone could give me the blurb on why it is so good and what the training is like it would be very much appreciated.

It is very good, practical and a great starter martial art. Also, a great source of alternative exercise you can do for a lifetime. No forms. Lots of ground work/rolling(wrestling). Pricey, as martial arts go. Limited standing, but don't be mistaken from what you here. Many people here act as though there is not striking, kicking, elbows etc. The standing fighting in BJJ is simple, easy to remember and practical. If you are looking for flashy try another art. After you get a good base at BJJ (more than a year), if you want to add to your arsenal with additional standing and weapons, add a Filipino Martial Art.

Go to the post titled Matt Thornton Fl- BJJ Seminar video clip, and download.
Although its very light rolling, it still gives you a good idea.
Hope that helps.
