    Default Size for wrestling

    Hi all,
I've been seriously thinking about taking up wrestling, but I'm afraid I might be too small for it. I'm skinny and about 5ft8, 135lbs. It seems like to me that to be an effective wrestler, you have to be big and strong. Any wrestlers out there that can tell me something?

Completely untrue especially for HS becuase it is heavier in technique. You should join the team. I would start working out now to get stronger, But I was surrounded by very good wrestlers in HS that rarely put in gym time especially teh lower weights I don't think you will have a problem. Again the cardio and weight lifting start it now. Talk with teh coach to see if there are any pre/post-season practice fall/summer practices for the team you could participate in
A person who is said to be proficient in the arts is like a fool. Because of his foolishness in concerning himself with just one thing, he thinks of nothing else and thus becomes proficient. - Hagarkure
