![]() | You have checked out the Gracie Family's awesome style of empty hand ground fighting. Maybe it is time for you to expand your martial arts training, and explore the wonderful world of Filipino Blade fighting as practiced by the Ilustrisimo family. I am sure many of you guys can kick some serious ass with your empty hand technique. But in the event of a knife confrontation, or if your opponent has a crow bar, or a stick, or if you have a weapon at your disposal, what would you do? You can Run like hell, but if there is nowhere to hide, it is not a good indea to clinch a guy who has a knife. The seminar will be conducted by Hans Tan. For the official flyer, check out my post at the FMA disucssion forum. I posted the official flyer on that discussion forum in html. But if you are too lazy to check out the FMA discussion forum to see the actual unedited flyer with photos and such, here is the poor man's, edited version: "When it comes to a LIFE or DEATH, (not sport) situation, no other system is more combat proven than Kalis Ilustrisimo. The Ilustrisimo family is both dreaded and respected in the toughest barrios of The Philippines due to the legacy of Masters such as the late Antonio Ilustrisimo, his father Isidro Ilustrisimo, and Uncle Melicio Ilustrisimo. This family is known for frequently engaging in Live Blade confrontations, and coming out victorious with all limbs accounted for. Despite such an adventurous existence, they were still able to pass on due to natural causes. This seminar is highly recommended for any martial arts practicioner, especially if you have any bladed weapon interest. This seminar will be an eye opener for all Kali practicioners, see for yourself why several Eskrima systems acknowledge lineage or influence from the Ilustrisimo system. Bring sticks, training clothes and an open mind. Hans Tan is in the US only once a year, so there and don't miss out. WHEN: Sunday December 10, 2000 TIME: 10am to 3pm WHERE: SIPA (Search to Involve Pilipino Americans) 3200 West Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA 90026 COST: $40 Prepaid, $50 at the door. INFO - Hans Tan 626-411-7726 Dino F 323-258-4777 Remember, Philippine fighting is based on Life or Death. There are truly no rules, no PPV audience or money involved. The only prize you are awarded, is your life.

![]() | I whole heartedly support this style and stress to all BJJ guys to attend. Ive often read BJJ guys on this forum say that they would never attempt unarmed vs a knife. This seminar will indeed show you that it is possible to survive a knife attack. If you are already doing BJJ you will most likely find that you pick up the Filipino techniques much quicker than a complete novice would.
