![]() | Rickson is getting fairly old, isn't he? Maybe ten years ago we would have been able to see those fights...I have no doubt he is a great fighter, but I don't know if he can compete as well against the new influx of youthful blood, who combine the superior ahtleticism with their skills. They would be good fights today, no doubt.

![]() | Rickson too old?!? Have you ever seen R. Couture, d. Severn, G. Goodridge, etc. these guys are in their late thirtees. Rickson is what: 40-43? He's probably in better shape than most NHB competitors out there! The guy even looks in his mid thirtees, for PETE'S SAKE! Check him out! http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/L.../rickson.html#

Is he afraid he will lose, does he not feel a need to prove himself, these are what people are split upon. If he didn't feel a need to prove himself why is he even fighting at all, I tend to think he doesn't want to risk his reputation against a dangerous opponent. |

![]() | He doesn't need to and it's not worth the risk to him to fight a top fighter. He makes a fortune fighting against lollypop fighters and his stock and mystique would disappear very quickly if he got his ass beat. It's because of naive gullable people that he has the legendary status that he has in the first place. |

![]() | Ronin, you obviously don't know jack shit about Rickson and the Gracies. The Gracies have proven their superiority many years ago and still no one comes close to their success in MMA. And Rickson is undoubtably the best of all the Gracies. So why would he waste time with any chumps out there when he is already the best of all time? Before you talk some more shit about the great man, take your worthless ass to Rickson's school and say what you want to say in his face. Or shut the f#$k up. |

| Tiger69: You dumb f*ck. If I went to Rickson's school and said, "You might lose to a top fighter." he would laugh and say, "You're right, I could." Then he would tap me out about 500 times. Then we would drink some juice and talk about what an idiot you are. In fact, I might go right now. |

| Novice | I'm a huge Gracie Fan and A student of Renzo's. But this is how I feel about Rickson. Rickson is the legend of the Gracie clan. Undefeated in all types of competition (jiu jitsu, judo, sambo, NHB). Which some people say is false because he actually lost a judo match he was thrown IPPON so he lost but then he made excusses. anyway. Granted he is getting older he is like 40 now. but i feel he doesnt want to fight top notch guys because of one thing fear of losing what happens if he loses then he is not the undfeated legend he once was. He doesnt want to put that on the line. If he loses the gracie legend of being the best fighter in the world will fall. And all the work Helio did to make his clan a legend will all of been done in vain. Maybe I'm wrong thats just my opinion I would love to know the reason why he want fight from Rickson himself. I would love to see him fight. He sure made his mark on in the fighting world as did all of the gracies. There style of jiu jitsu is awesome. Martial arts is evolving and there is no one style that is better then the other all the best NHB fighter cross train and thats the nest step in martial arts. |

Although I will note that everybody's whining last week about the lack of action on the ole' forum, and we're back to this again?! Why Rickson isn't fighting top guys? I hope somebody vacuumed the dustballs off before they posted it.
