A public apology

Hello, everyone. I would like to apologize for my behavior of the other night. I realize that there are some people who think Internet challenges are silly, and some who make them regularly as a point of honor. I guess, I fall somewhere in-between. Nevertheless, the reaction to my little flame-war with Tez has been fairly negative, and I must therefore assume that I was at least partly to blame.

Mainly, I would like to apologize to my instructor. I will avoid mentioning his name so as not to cause him any further embarrassment, but he knows who he is.

I will also apologize to anyone else who feels that personal vendettas and flame-wars are a waste of Forum space. While it is true that they can sometimes add drama to an otherwise boring intermission between MMA events, they can also degenerate into ugly, petty name-calling contests - such as last night.

Tez, I apologize to you for calling you names, some of which were probably offensive to you. However, I only meant it in a spirit of fun until you turned it personal. I don't know why you did that. I guess you felt provoked. Whatever.

I have been going through a difficult personal time in my life, maybe the most difficult I have ever faced. It sounds like an excuse, but I am not myself lately. And this isn't the first time this has happened. Therefore, perhaps it would be better if I resumed the leave-of-absence I meant to take a few weeks ago but wimped out on. I don't post on here to start trouble, but lately trouble seems to be finding me, so I will avoid it. I thought my presence on the Forum was good for the Forum, but now I am starting to doubt that. So, I will leave. It's not a big deal, anyway...it's just the Internet. I need to learn that.

Whoever it was still crossed a line which shouldn't be crossed. I don't go around slamming peoples' wives or girlfriends or family members. This isn't the freaking Underground.

If there are several possible explanations for some observation, and no significant evidence to judge the validity of those hypotheses, you should always use the simplest explanation possible.

I'm not gonna out the guy, 'cause where's the fun in that--he'll out himself when he wants to, as I did when I couldn't keep it in anymore.
