    Last Night

experience and practice really does pay off. last night i was at cbgb, and i was up front by the stage singing along to an old cro-mags song. i got propelled back by my friend adam, who is a gorilla, and i stopped in the middle of the pit. this new blood, wannabe hardcore kid swung kicked me in the nose. at that instant, i grabbed his leg with my left hand, and edge-of-hand chopped him in the side of the neck. he dropped. and i walked off my pain from the kick to the nose. THANK YOU CPT. FAIRBAIRN!

I say. Have you ever tried a formal dinner dance? What what?

I've never actually hit anyone with an Axe Had as yet. How long was he out? Where abouts on the neck did you get him?

i hit the right side of his throat side ways, and then a quick downward chop in the same region. he was out for about 10 seconds. i hit him with a tremendous amount of my will and strength cause in the heat of the moment and not knowing just how stupid and belligerent he might be, i didn't want him getting up that quick. i wouldn't call it a knock out, he was moving, but he was probably seeing stars if you know what i mean. he stayed out of the pit for the remainder.

and fyi i took 3 years of ballroom dancing lessons. i fucking rule the funky chicken.

for sideways edge-of-hand, palm up is ineffective. keep it palm down ALWAYS, unless it's a downward chop. and he fell because remember i had his foot gripped in my left hand. i let him drop. i wish i had video footage.

EDIT: remember, when chopping, always keep your thumb fully extended.

I've trained the palm up and seem to be able to hit reasonably hard with it. Yes, the movement is at a downwards angle and not perfectly horizontal....... but it stilll seems feasible to me. But, like I said, I haven't hit anyone for real with it.

palm up is a no-go. practice on a dummy. fairbairn insists that the palm is to be down. i've done both palm up and down in training, and there's a big difference.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree. I have Spar Pro, and even he looks hurt.......

I reckon the palm up type is ideal against a crouching opponent, where a tiger claw might merely hit the top of his head. I'd stick it in his neck instead.

since i don't train with you, and i see you as an equal, i'll just say: do whatever works for you. if you get good results with palm up, then keep on keeping on.

You could have said 'strange' just as well.

    And more importantly why?

i don't know when you're joking around, cause frankly you seem like you're being condescending. thought i'd dispense with that.

I'm joking around. You have to read my posts with a slight humorish tint; you haven't been around long enough.
