![]() | "No chics here! June 16 2004, 8:04 AM Yes, Sandy it's true! I don't teach women. The reasons are both logical and simple. 1. Women do not have the psychological and physical strength to handle the rigors of Contemporary Fighting Arts. They simply cannot keep up with the others. CFA is hard core- women are not. 2. Women hold back the men in class. Its not fair to ask my guys to "ease up on her", "work with her" or "don't hit so hard." My warriors are hungry for combative growth. This "growth" comes through training intensity and you cannot train intensely with a woman. Sorry but its a fact! 3. Woman would get killed in many of my combat scenario drills. One hit from one of my guys would crush her skull or break her bones. I am not interested in dealing with law suits. 4. Keep in mind that CFA is way beyond RBSD, its about creating an elite warrior class in the 21st century. Its about turning men into warriors. Its about rediscovering and unleashing the warrior archetype in the male psyche. Sandy you exemplify the women who have contributed to the emasculation of men and the sublimation of the warrior within. Guess what baby? We don't buy that shit here at CFA. Men are the hunters and women are the gatherers! Face it! Contemporary Fighting Arts is for men and always will be. If you don't like it thats tuff shit. Its my art, my system and I deem who will study it. There are hundreds of others schools and systems that will be more than willing to take your money, frankly I am not interested. -Sammy Franco" the whole threrad is here http://www.network54.com/Forum/threa...&lp=1087402197 |

![]() | Thats interesting. I trained with Franco a little bit but I did not know he did not allow women to train. I just guessed none wanted too. This macho attitude and all the made up stories used in advertising like "We beat a bjj dude" is what made me leave. For all there talk about how there system is the best I think it would be funny if Royce Gracie came in and gave them a beatdown and gave the video to Rorion to help make a GJJ in Action 3. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | I had a good laugh slagging the guy off a while back. But to actually put this in print may even be illegal in the USA(?) Regardless, I know women who can piss with the big boys. The guy is insulting to half the worlds population and talking out of his testicles. This bit makes me laugh "Contemporary Fighting Arts is for men and always will be. If you don't like it thats tuff shit. Its my art, my system and I deem who will study it." His system sure does seem similar to other things that were around before he reared his Neanderthal head! Haw haw haw! He wins the WANKER OF THE WEEK! award. |

![]() | Everyone has a right to train who they want, by the sounds of this the problem is one of semantics. Mr. Franco does not teach self defense, he teaches fighting and only at an elite level.

![]() | This thread also made it to eh Senshido forum in the women's section and Helen replied the following: "Hey Bri. I had been privately e-mailed this particular thread quite a bit today. I have to say although I'm not surprised by what I read, I am thoroughly disappointed in Sammy's approach. It's fine not to want to teach women. Everyone has the right to preference. As a teacher/educator I would think that the message could have been delivered differently, with a little more class and dignity. It is a shame that he has "Reality Based Self Defense" tagged to his name since that will give us and any other RBSD system a bad name. His explanantion and the people who will be attracted to him due to his message is exactly the type of people we teach to avoid and in fact if we can't avoid it, they actually make our jobs a lot easier since there's not much of a thought process when a man refers to the woman as nothing more than the "contribution of the emasculation of men and the sublimation of the warrior within." I'd like to hear the thoughts of you Bri and others... Helen" It's good to see that Senshido doesn't follow Franco's philosophy on this. |

![]() | It's not about the fact that he doesn't want to teach women, that's fine. It is how he presented it with things like "Men are the hunters, women are the gatherers" "don't listen to anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die" "women contribute to the emasculation of men" and so on. If he doesn't want to teach women that's his perogative but the statements he made were chauvanistic like it or not. And the whole warriors of the 21st century crap LOL @ the "archetype warriors" he sounds like a conan comic book. |

I give up"" If you read what Mr. Franco is saying, it's what he seems to be saying, is it a fact ? only those who train with him can answer. p. s. sorry but i don't know how to work the quotes on the computer.

| Registered User | Oh my, what a dick! I am all for people having the right to choose who they provide a service for, but the manner which they take is a different story. Don't think it should matter how he explains himself? What if he were to say I don't train (N)blacks because ther're an inferior race, or Jews because they're the root of all evil and wore a white hood on the front of his website?
