![]() | For the expert fighters out there, is there a good balance for you weight training vs MA workout routine? i suppose with added power from heavy lifting also comes less flexibility. any thoughts? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm not an expert. The thing is that your nueral pathyways grow according to what you do the most. If you practice alot of Tae Kwon do for example and work on kicks, you strengthen the neural pathways for those moves. If you spend more time lifting weights than practicing Tae Kwon Do, then you will strengthen those neural pathways. The result, you don't execute proper kicking technique. Your strength training should supplement your MA training. If you do Tae Kwon Do for 3 times a week and you choose to strengthen your legs and core for more powerful kicks, you should strength train 2 times a week at most. |

![]() | I agree. Lifting weights imporoved my strenght tremendously and i was able to do a lot more techniques more efficiently. Losing Flexability is just a myth. if youstretch before and after your workout, there will be no loos of flexability.
