Default Is Sonnon TMA, MMA or RSBD?

Okay thank you for your patience with my questions. I'm a basic rookie, but I'm having trouble putting Scott Sonnon in a category. Is he traditional martial arts, mixed martial arts or reality based self defense?

Defenitely not a tma. ROSS has 8 directions
1.Russian Style Close Quarters Combat and Survival School
2.Renovated Judo/Sambo school
3.Professional Protection and Close Security School
4.Bayonet Fencing and Carbines School
5.Sports Science
6.Devoloped Gymnastics
7.The Russian Health System
8.Russian Fistcuffs

WOW! Do you need to study all of them at once or is it that it's all mixed together in the class? It sounds more like MMA + RSBD, is that right?

Depends on the school but it typically mixed together in the class. For example you might do some breathing excercises from the Russian Health System and then practice fistcuffs and renovated sambo.

Hey, here is the best news you've gotten ALL DAY!!! ROSS isn't taught and learned, it is remembered. It's self educating. But, If you need some extra coaching and some direction to set out in your journey, Scott has super materials, because he is super blessed to be able to birth these things and put them out there for all of us to enjoy as well. Then there is the rest of us, we're out there doing this stuff too, and when we have questions or discoveries, or insights, we get on the forum or on an email and share. You don't need an instructor in your area, you have yourself, the ground, the air to breath. Pick up a video or jump online and pose some questions to the CST Coaches. I'm lucky to have a some one here that happens to be a close person to me in a personal/professional aspect that could introduce me to all this good stuff, but soon he will be retiring, and the amount of time we spend together training will be lessoned because he wont be right there anymore, so what I will be left with are his words, the basic fundamentals, and myself, the ground, and the air. I'll probably need some help, so I'm going to order fisticuffs, body flow, warrior wellness, and whatever else I decide later. If I still have trouble, I'll get on the forum and ask someone, perhaps maybe you. LOL, that's so what I love about doing this, I don't have to go to a class. Neither do you

well, without Scotts videos, the first thing I was taught was proper breathing, then I was taught basic shock absorbtion and innoculation. I'm not sure if Fisticuffs covers that or not? From reading on the forum, I am hearing that warrior wellness is a great place to start though. There is a tape set I'm fairly certain that hones in on shock absorbtion and shock engineering, but I don't intend to buy that one right now since I am really getting that in my daily instruction. It might benefit you though.
