Default groin protector

What's the best groin protector for MMA out there? I've been told to use the "yellow banana thing" like the ones for baseball. Are those ok or should I get one online from a martial art store?
Thanks!

wear a cup and expect that someday somebody will kick you hard enough to break it.

This happens frequently. You dont want to mess with the family jewels.

I recently bought a new groin guard from a firm called Top Ten (also head gear), they make it out of a very modern material called 'BayFlex' which is a sort of rubbery stuff, this compound is very shock absorbant, more so than most other brands including the famous Twins, Fairtex et al.
The latter use good quality leather with padding etc.. these do not even come close to the shock absorbing properties of bayflex, imo.. check it out.
On the downside, they are not cheap.

should be topten.com but not sure because i bought them from my usual supplier rather than directly

hope this helps
