Default Need a gi for BJJ

I am going to begin BJJ lessons soon. I need to purchase a gi. Something that is decent and will hold up for a long time, without breaking the bank. Can anyone recommend a good online source for such a gi?
Thanks in advance!

Default Search posts

You might want to search the posts here, I think this question has been asked quite a few times. Or at least posts that rate gi's

But here are a couple

www.atamakimonos.com
www.ouano.com

I own both types and really like them.

My personal recommendation is this: Since you are just starting bjj I wouldn't recommend going out and spending $150 on a Howard double weave..... yet. On the other hand I wouldn't recommend wasting money on any single weaves (they wear out fast and stretch a lot during training).

I would advise you get a gold weave, they are a good starter gi. Both Atama and Ouano both sell good gold weaves in the $70-$80 price range.

Thanks for the suggestions!.
Another question. I have a pretty low tolerance to heat. I get hot easily and would like to stay as cool as possible. That is why I was leaning towards a single weave. However, I also don't want to get a gi that is not going to last in the long run. Which type of weave should I get?

I got a rednose gi because they were cheap. It is very soft cotton and has held up very well. Nice looking gi too. Cheap compared to most.
