Fist Why Rickson, Royce, Renzo the baddest asses of all.

One idiot on another site wrote:
"Besides having 400 hundred wins by Rickson he really knows his shit. He
said in a recent interview when asked about self defense that he would use a gun not his stuff. No wonder godzilla is missing. Rickson did him. What would he do in a real fight like we saw last night at the pacers/pistons basketball game in Detroit when there were more than a few jumping in just like the real world fighting? Rickson said he would just shoot in and take them down? But there were way too many crowds around kicking heads and ribs to end up on the floor, Rickson? You can't use your gun. Rickson says, "No problem, I would just do a rear naked choke hold." On who? Ricky? Oh, on Wallace at almost 7 foot, 300? And those many fans and players swinging and kicking out of control? But what about those kicks to your head? A what? You would take them all down? :

"I mean come on. Rickson is the best in the world. He has been to India, China and all of Asia and no one there has ever beaten him. He has more than 400 wins with some where around 800 is more like it. I just wish they would quit making fun of him.

Regarding Royce, just because he lost to Ismael who was only 150 and was choked out by a small 150 pounder doesn't mean he lost. He didn't tap even though he was unconscious. Then just because Sak pulled Royce's gi over his head and spanked him for about a minute or more doesn't mean Royce isn't better than Sak. Just beacuse Royce received a severely dislocated/broken ankle doesn't mean he can't walk."

"Sak broke Renzo's arm, oops, dislocated it, (sorry) doesn't mean anything at all, huh?"

I just want to say if those guys don't like the Gracies and such. I still think they can beat anyone in the world and that they have never lost one fight. They don't like the Gracies because they don't want to admit the truth.

I have so much respect for the Gracies. They set out to prove that their art was effective in the best venue available, in competition, and have shown its effectiveness time and time again. Siteing one example or one particular fight doesn't discredit what they have accomplished. They are true warriors, and a very proud family who has worked tirelessly to promote and provide quality instruction for what is a true love of mine.
Paul Vunak once said, in refrence to Guro Dan Inosanto,"They only try to tackle the guy with the ball" and the Gracies are still carrying this ball, along with a contingent of top martial artists who have learned from them, either directly or indirectly.
Mahalo, Jeremy

Default "Are the Gracies washed up?"

Alan from BJJ forum writes this:
"I mean the Gracies had their dog and pony show. But now they are getting whipped by fighters who train both sides. I saw the Kimo fight and had it been in the streets, forget it. Kimo threw Royce to the ground head first. If it were not for the soft mats Royce would have received a crushed skull. End of story. Ismael finished him, so did Sak. He's washed up, out of there,
a former wannabe with nothing left except his lips flapping. Same goes for the rest. 400 wins by Rickson, my ass. Renzo best in the world, my ass."

See, from that perspective, the hero worship crap is gone. There is a lot of anomosity against the Gracies due to their mouths as in BIG. But I agree. They beat the loud mouth wannabe karate geeks and all.
Yet, this is another day when new fighters are coming up. The strikers seem to be winning and are BACK, huh?
