Oh for crying out loud, do we have to go through this again? People are always talking this and that about how great Mr. Miyagi was and I'm sick of it.

Honestly what competition did Mr. Miyagi actually win? Did he ever fight UFC or MMA at all? No - He had one student and that kid only barely got lucky in his one tournament after getting his @#$ kicked around the whole rest of the fight. If his opponent had had even two days of BJJ training the whole thing would have been different.

If you want to call yourself a martial artist you have to be able to beat BJJ and that means you have to train BJJ under somebody named 'Gracie'. Anybody else is a wannabe poser who never won anything except by training BJJ and then calling it 'tai chi' or whatever sorry-butt flicky hand waste of time kata havin' junk they studied before.

That's all unless you mean fighting IN THE STREET. IN THE STREET, the only way to beat BJJ is with a gun. Even then, it better be a big gun with lots of bullets and a scope and some crazy-ass tripod or something cool like that. And night vision.

Also, san shou is pretty cool.

But still not as cool as BJJ.

Yes BJJ rules. But Randy Cotoure whuped Vitor Belfort (student of Carlson Gracie, brother of Helio) in UFC 49.

Besides, Pat Morita (Miyagi) didn't even know very much of the martial arts at all.

I haven't seen UFC 49 but I reckon Vitor rulz? I heard he loses(it was a rematch or somethin'?) but how?

Also-and this is a question too-Randy must have Brazilian Jui Jitsu experience to deal with the takedown's? How else do you deal with takedown's?

30+ years of wrestling would be a good way to go. It seems to work for him.
