![]() | While grappling against an opponent who is willing to bite, eye gouge, etc., what do you all believe would be the best tactics to neutralize these attacks? |

![]() | Depends on how good he is at it. Eye-gouging was common in frontier wrestling. I've heard that the reason modern wrestling works for a pin is because frontier wrestlers were so adept at removing a pinned opponents eyes. If you could pin the guy you could pop out an eye. I'd definitely avoid grappling. Try to keep him at arm's length and use a Sumo type of straight blast. |

![]() | I would keep very active with strikes. Nothing like a good knee to the head when he tries to bite your leg/ankle Repeat for good measure. Or choke him when he goes for the family jewels..(see Rorion in GIaction tape- he does just that) Same goes with a good elbow when he tries to bite or gouge you. Usually keeps em at bay then when the opportunity arises, put him to sleep fast. Sounds carnal- but what else are you going to do- wait casually for an opening to armbar him? If its a real fight- who cares what you do. If your sparring- he deserves it because he is out of control.

![]() | This question has been asked quite a few times and I would answer that any fight on the street can be anywhere from a gentlemen's quarrel to an all out, anything goes, nasty to the bone fight. If I were in a fight in the street, I would not wait to see how my opponent is going to fight and my philosophy is to end it quickly, whether to run and flee, to picking up a sitck, board, rock, bottle...etc. Sometimes, coming in second on the street, means a body bag. |

![]() | Probably giving him a taste of his own medicine. If he goes for your eyes, go for his too. I had a guy in the rear naked once and he told me, "In the street I would just poke your eyes" So I told him that all I had to do was put my head down and stick my finger in his eye too. Since the rear mount is a better position, it wasn't hard to do. I guess the lesson is probably, good position then finish! ...or something like that.

![]() | no consideration...If the fight is THAT intense-probably life or death...I would have done those things to him already...

![]() | If I ever get into a serious streetfight, I want to bite their nose right off, or tear their ear off. One or the other. Call me sick, but I think I'd do that. [Edited by YeLLa-TiGeR on 12-22-2000 at 03:50 PM]
