i was wondering about something. bjj and judo are both about leverage. they are very similar indeed, but have their differences as well. in terms of using leverage, which art emphasises maximum efficiency with minimum effort most? bjj or judo?
btw i think judo and bjj should be taught together. even more effective. |

I think that depends on instructor more than anything.
But from those Ive seen probably BJJ. But this does not mean one values 'technique' more than the other mearly that standing grappling is different in nature to ground grapling. |

The historiv quotes are (from memory):
Judo: Maximum effect from minimum effort BJJ: Its all about levarage and balance Pretty much the same kind of thing i.e. good use of effort. Personally I think BJJ emphasises it most in actual training (though I may change my mind in time) as both competitors are in 'similar and opposing positions' less of the time i.e. one in guard one using guard both going for different things whilst most of Judo is both guys standing both simultaneously fighting for their chosen grip. |
