  |  Criteria for Making the Cover of Black Belt It's like making the cover of Rolling Stone but what is the Criteria? Is it politics, money, your contribution to the art, your skill level, who you know, what you know? Puzzled and Bowing Out.

| Back in the day one of the criterias was to be very good friends with an influential well known MA such as Bruce Lee... Q: Did Bruce ever buy you anything or do anything for you that really touched your heart??? Leo Fong: First of all without me asking, Bruce talked to Black Belt and put me on the cover.

| Back in the 60's when Black Belt magazine first started they used to put Judo men on the cover all the time. {Based on seeing the archives, I'm not that old}. Now, you never know who is going to be on the cover. I like the guy above who said, "How many magazines can you help sell" That really hit home. We do live in a commercial and profit minded society.
