    Talking Cool as in...

About 65 at night. I live about 30 miles north of LA and the nights have been pretty clear with a warm wind blowing.

    Bear, STAY HOME!

The Rose Parade and Rose Bowl is postponed indefinitely.

There will be a full scale riot New Years Day, with the Rampart police squad leading the charge for looting stores.

A strong series of earthquakes is predicted in the near future.

There have been a rash of gang drive by shootings are on every street corner. High speed freeway chases are an hourly occurance and so no one but the outlaws are on the freeways and the streets are gridlocked.

Electricity rates have been deregulated so the companies are charging outrageous prices and so everyone but the extremely wealthy has to use candles and we only watch television a half hour a day. We have to cook using wood fires.

The EPA just closed off the City of Torrance, massive toxic waste was found from the petroleum refiners that are all located there. Cleanup has begun but the the residents will be able to come back to their homes and business in around 6 months.

    Oh and the weather sucks.

Hey Bear, just pulling your paw.

Let me know when you're coming and we'll try to arrange something. We might even be able to get Karl out of the mental ward on a 12 hour pass. All we need to do is bribe the head nurse with some boxes of chocolates.

We can try to assemble the A team.

Actually booked the flight today but not going until Feb. Anyway, since I've made the trip 8 times before Sweepem I kinda know that it is't that bad in LA, there are shootings on every OTHER corner I beleive and since I live in the snow pelted area of Canada earthquakes at this point including the molten streams of fire actually sound nice. I guess I should bring my suntan lotion. thx 4 the advise.

    Cool

Oh, February.....it's not as bad, let's see what the reports say.

Killer African bees will come out, a few hurricanes, Rocky Mountian Spotted fever, the Hanta Virus spread by rodents, the flesh eating bacteria, Malaria.

Yeah, bring your sunscreen with you. You're probably pale as snow, living in Canada. HA!

Hey, maybe we can even get Patterson out of his cave and down here. He's been missing in action, but I really think that he's posting here under another alias.

Its snowy and ball freezing cold where I am. That said though, I do live a fair few thousand miles east of LA.

    Default The 405 Sucks....

From one out-of-towner to another. My tips:

    1. Don't try the HOV lane. They're aren't kidding. They
will catch you. LAPD can't catch crack dealers selling
out of the LAPD parking lot.. but they will nail you
to the wall for driving in that lane! LOL!
(BTW, what's w/that fine?!?! The Menendez Bro's got off
    easier than that!)

    2. Get an audio book if you're there for more than a day.
If you'll be driving on the 405, make it War and Peace.

    3. Drivers will pull to the shoulder of the road, and let
you pass them.. if you hand Krispy Kreme donuts out
    the window.

    4. Don't stop traffic to let the beautiful blonde in the
convertible Mercedes into your lane... very rarely will
they pull over to have sex with you.

    5. Pico is a very long street. If you are looking to get
to Pico in Sta Monica, it is most definitely not advised
to hit Pico near the Staples center and try to get
    there. (Personal experience).

    6. Everyplace in L.A. is "about half an hour" from
where you are. When in doubt, triple the estimated
    time!

    7. And finally... Train at Rey Diogo's school! (If Sweep poses the inocuous "Hey, see if you can Kimura me from the rear mount" question... run!)
(I'm still in therapy. I've learned that it's not my fault.)
    LOL!

Fat Burger baby...well they don't make Tofu burgers but what they do make kicks some butt. I would add just one more thing, remember to keep your car doors locked Other then that you'll have a good time.
