How much should a Pit Dog weigh?

I've heard around 40 lbs.

They should weigh whatever they weigh. By that there is no "set" weight. Typically, your best dogs are between 30 and 50 lbs. in condition, with 35-45 being the most common range.

The dog pictured above is 30.5 lbs.

This is her brother at 40 lbs. He would be about 36 lbs lean and in shape:
