The stupidist comment he ever made was after UFC I or II, when he said "I have been around tough guys all my life, growing up, playing football, and I even hung around with Ali and Mike Tyson. Both of those guys wouldn't stand a chance in the octagon." HA!!!!!!!!!! I could see if he said that after a recent UFC (I still disagree, but it's arguable)...BUT AFTER UFC I or II!!!!!!! HA!!!!!!! So Jim Brown didn't think Ali could've beaten Pat Smith or Gerard Gordeau? He didn't think Tyson could've beaten Keving Rosier or Zane Frazier? In fact the only two fighters from UFC I or II who could've MAYBE beaten Tyson or Ali (in their primes) were Shamrock and Gracie. Jim Brown was an outstanding football player and one of the greatest athletes of all time. But when it came to fighting he didn't know his elbow from his asshole.

If a woman tried to hit me, I'd grab hold of her and settle her down. I don't need to hit her.
In fact, with good grappling skills you don't really have to hurt anyone.

Blatnik was an alright commentator but in the early UFC's, he was very confused between the guard and the mounted positions.

Several times he kept saying that someone passed the other guy's guard but in fact the top guy had mounted the bottom guy. He did this several times.

As for being aroused around wrestlers, give him that since he was one.

what i've seen some women do to there boyfriends/husbands, they deserve A LOT more than a smack in the face.
this is a very fitting story:
last week a friend of mine(who does not train ma) was at a party dancing with some girl when some bitch came up and got in his face. after some words back and forth, she waited till he turned around and then busted a beer bottle over the back of his head. what would you do in this situation ryu? turn around and say "please excuse me, madamme. i apologize for placing my head in the path of your swinging flask. i beg for your forgiveness my lady."? ha ha! or wait you said you would grab her before she hit you. yeah right. of course you won't get hit if you have a chance to avoid it, shit for brains.
needless to say, my friend turned around and gave her a straight right to the chin and floored her. then, this is the best part, some punk ass who saw the whole thing(this is where you would have come in if you were there) gets up in my friends face like he's about to jump him shouting "you just hit a girl?!! you just hit a girl?!!" the punk ass promptly got a bottle to the back of HIS head by my friends brother who was standing off to the side.
moral of the story--some women deserve to get hit --anyone who wants to defend a woman who deservingly got hit, needs to get hit--and ryu is a piece of shit.

I'm going to do this nicely since,
1. You're making an ass of yourself to the people of the forum,
2. You are not up to my par with flame wars, therefore exposing your ignorance in the matter is not really impressive for me to do,
3. It's not worth going back and forth when I make a point and you can't get around that point.
4. I don't want to waste my time.

Your friend is not aware of his surroundings. He is not any type of fighter. He turns his back on people, doesn't pay attention, and should not be "dating" a woman with a temper like that in the first place. He could have talked her down (I'm sure he strutted around like a tough guy), and NOT turned his back on anyone. If she is violent like this then that's something for him to understand. It sounds like he got completely taken by surprise which is kind of dumb. Second, if he was coherent enough to turn around and punch her in the face, then he was also coherent enough to grab her wrist, sit her down, yell if he feels like it, and then the coupe de grace DUMP her for her actions. That is how a man handles these things. My life is not mixed with the kind of lowlives your talking about anyway, but if I was in the situation, my awareness would be a bit better than your friends, and the girl in question would find herself packing and out of my life the very next day. I am not saying that there are not times to defend your life! If a woman is trying to kill you and you have to defend yourself then by all means defend yourself!
You are talking about the first reaction is to hit, and that is stupid. I'd rather you be a man, my friend. And I'm sure others would agree.
Now that this is done, let's quiet down, and go on to bigger and better posts.

On one last side note,

If the girl in question is not romantically involved with your friend (meaning they were not dating, and she was simply nuts) the same thing applies...in fact even more so.
DO NOT turn your back on anyone in that situation. Man or woman. Your friend turned around and hit a woman because he was angry. That's it. He was not in danger. He could just as easily grabbed her, sit her down, press charges, etc. If you can turn around and punch someone in anger, then your life generally is not in danger, so your example is really a bad one. I hope you'll think about being a man in the future.
A real man doesn't have to be walking on egg shells with women, and if they are indeed wrong he doesn't have to just "take it". But a real man, while firm and showing he is in control of the moment, is still in control over his emotions, and his strength.
