Default Preparations before taking BJJ.

I'm a lil worried I'll be to weak or out of breath when I start BJJ. any tips or training books ect you guys reccomend? anything I can do by myself?

oh man when i first started i couldnt even get through warmups. 2 months later i can at least get through warmups now lol. at the end of class i cant physicaly move any still. maybe another 2 months.

just work on cardio.. I am overweight myself (5'11, 225lbs) but i can hang pretty good.. its the 6 minutes of nonstop rolling that kill me.. I also used to play basketball everyday though before I started BJJ so I am sure that has helped.. I also smoke too.. so go figure.. it just takes time.. especially if you haven't really done anything active for a while.. haha.. I wish my cardio and stamina were better.. I think I would be even better at BJJ..

improve cardio, i would run like 2 miles every other day to build it up, even if you just jog, it helps tons

Cardio is very important.

Do as many sit ups and push ups as you can do.

Work on your flexibility and stretch out every day.

Work on your hand strength, having a good grip is important also-pull ups or chin ups is great to strenghten your arms and grip.
