Hey All,
We currently got a new canvas for our ring and at the same time flipped our mats. What I was wondering is if anyone has some “tricks” to prolong the life of either wrestling mats or boxing ring canvases. I have heard of people putting a “conditioner” on mats but have never looked into it much. We already follow the “no shoes” rule religiously. Previously our mats started flaking and the canvas just wore through and started to rip. I might want to add that both lasted around ten years with daily use. Any Ideas? Gruhn

GRUHN WHERE WAS I? i thougth you would use me for slave labor then pay me with extremely expensive foods, like duck and arby's.
anyway, the onl;y way to properly to preserve a mat/ring is to not use it. u and i both know that won't happen, so i think cleaning on a regular basis is a good place to start. and OmaPlata had a good idea, but i don't know if that's our style. so i suggest changing his idea by getting the whole class invovled, that will make it a lot faster.Mullins |

Anyone with more of a serious answer, feel free to post. Everyone else, keep racking up those posts somewhere else. I posted this in hopes of more serious answers. Quality over quantity kids, last time I checked we couldn’t turn in our posts for some sort of hierarchical social status.
Thanks, Gruhn

Cleaning it is the best way to preserve it. Oils in sweat break down vinyl. They make mat cleaners that will help. Also keep it from temperature extremes and direct sunlight.
