Default What do you guys think of this school?

http://www.mmaacombatzone.com/instructors.htm

Im really interested in doing BJJ and maybe some Muay Thai or JKD. The only catch is that this school is a hour and a half hour drive. The only other schools in my city are TKD. I also did a year of Bagua and Hsing I, but that school closed. So do you guys think this school is worth the drive? Thanks alot

looks really good, one of the instructors is a black belt under Pedro Sauer, who is a Rickson Gracie Black belt.....that should tell you enough that its worth the drive....plus the other stuff they teach, looks good

I actually had the pleasure of meeting Khru Greg Nelson and Sensei Erik Paulson at the same time. From what I've heard of him from people in the TBA community, Khuen Khru Greg Nelson is an excellent teacher. I would say that an hour and a half drive, depending on how serious you are with the martial arts, is a small price to pay to train with an instructor of that caliber.

Professor Sauer is also world reknown, and worldly reknown for being a tough man to get a black belt from. In my mind, and in my personal opinion, having a Pedro Sauer black belt is just as good as having a black belt directly from Rickson or Royce Gracie.

Even though the drive is long, you could take meticulous notes and practice at home, as well as doing conditioning at home.

2x a week is a good enough time to improve your skills at a recreational level.

Greg Nelson has trained several UFC fighters including Sean Sherk I believe. His dvds have gotten and good reviews and he is knowledgable about all phases of combat. I would defenitely try to get there.
