EXTREME GRAPPLING OPEN (EGO)

OCTOBER 15th, 2005
Gi and No-Gi Divisions!

The Indiana Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy (www.ibjja.com) will again be hosting the E.G.O. (Extreme Grappling Open) tournament on Saturday, October 15th.
The tournament will be held in a new venue in Beech Grove (Indianapolis), IN and will have Gi and No-Gi competition.
We will also be holding three 8-man invite only tournaments and one 8-woman tournament. The winners of these divisions will receive nice Championship Belts and 2nd place competitors will receive a Battle Axe, with 3rd placers getting a Samurai Sword. All other 1st- 3rd place competitors will receive medals.
The invite only weight classes are as follows:
Lightweight men 130 – 160lbs.
Middleweight men 161 -190lbs.
Heavyweight men 191-220lbs

Women’s Invite tournament weight class is; 130 -165lbs

We are taking applications now for the invite tournament and the rest of the info will be posted on the site this week (www.ibjja.com) Please send a grappling resume to James@IBJJA.Com, complete with height, weight, grappling/NHB experience, awards, Team, and any other information you think may earn you a spot in one of the brackets.

Well, the Extreme Grappling Open is only 10 days away and the event is shaping up nicely! I wanted to resend this information, as I don’t think it made it out on my last attempt.
As you can see we are still in need of a few women to compete in the Invite division. I am sure that a few ladies will step of the day of the tournament if need be.
Don’t forget to go to www.ibjja.com/ego01.htm for all of the tourney info and registration.

We are looking at a pretty huge event this go around. We have many women coming to compete and have several Brown Belts and a few Black Belts confirmed!!
A few notes:
• We will have divisions for kids
• Invite Tournament Competitors- YOU do not pay to compete.
• Pre-registrations are due in by October 8th.
• I have attached a picture of the Awards for the invite divisions.
• 6 Mats will be running continuously.
• We are still working on getting some sponsors to donate some stuff (supplements, apparel, etc.) to the Invite division Competitors.
• We have added Team Trophies for 1st-3rd place in both Gi and No-Gi divisions!
