Lennox Lewis Slams Tyson

"In a recent interview, Mike Tyson said that he wants to eat your children and that he 'will put a bullet in [your] skull.' Does that scare you?"

Lewis: Mike Tyson is an imbecile. He's a train wreck waiting to happen. What do you say about a guy who says he's going to shoot you in the head? The guy doesn't even know me. It doesn't make any sense. Then he says he wants to eat my kids. I don't even have any kids. The man needs help.

"Should he be allowed to fight anymore"?

Lewis: Let's face it: Throughout history we've never seen someone bite someone's ear off in the ring. If he's going to eat guys, his next fight should be on The Food Network.

"Everyone wants to see you in the ring with Tyson. Promoters estimate that you could make as much as $60 million for that fight. Are you game?"

Lewis: Tyson is the final man I'd like to knock out--first out of a fight, then out of boxing altogether. I want to step into the ring and solve this whole thing once and for all. But I'm not optimistic that this fight will happen. And if it does, I'd hate to have people not get their money's worth because Tyson got disqualified early on. How do I know he's not going to come out and bite me or pull my hair?

"Ever brawled out side the ring as an adult?"

Lewis: No. I saw Mike Tyson in Vegas the other day. He was walking real fast and I heard him call someone a bitch. I thought, Man, I should go over there and punch him in the face. Then I thought, Why? I don't want to take things to that level. Let people pay to see it. But if he tried to sucker-punch me, I'm ready every time. I talk reality.

"Who are the hot fighters to watch these days?"

Lewis: Sugar Shane Mosley, Felix Trinidad, Fernando Vargas, Prince Naseem Hamed... I didn't really think the Prince was all that much until I took a close look at him. It's uncanny what that guy does in the ring.

That guy can move in the most unorthadox manner and endup in good punching position.

I agree, the prince is a freakin phenom, and so cocky, I love it, all he said his last fight"damn I'm looking good", that was funny, and Tyson calls Lewis a bitch, and Lewis just waltzes off like it was nothing, what a bitch, just my take

I don't think Tyson called Lewis a bitch though in Vegas, Tyson called somebody else a bitch while Lewis was there.

God I hope that fight happens. Lewis would KILL tyson. Tyson is old and outa shape, he thinks he's a badass, but he ain't. I have more respect for a yellow belt in shotokan than I do for Tyson. It cracks me up to imagine Tyson in his weak girly voice call someone a bitch! :-)

if tyson keeps his mental state in check he will beat lewis in my opinion. he will not be afraid like that goofball tua, tyson will come at him full force.

Tyson(6-30-66) is about 10 months younger than Lewis(9-2-65). I don't know much about Lewis' street experience, but Ben Johnson, the Canadian sprinter, supposedly man handled Lewis in a fight either at the Olympics or at the Olympic training camp for Canada. If that is true, Lewis might want to keep any fight with Tyson in the ring with rules. If he could not whip Johnson, I doubt he could handle Tyson. He might whip Tyson in the ring if he gets a referee who lets him tie Tyson up whenever Tyson gets in punching range. Lewis may be an HBO build up like Michael Grant. I still remember Lewis getting knocked out easily by Oliver McCall in their first fight and not being able to hurt McCall in the second fight when McCall had the break down in the ring. McCall was walking around crying, with his hands down and Lewis was hitting him with no effect.

Its true Ben Johnson had a fight with Lewis over a Pool table at the athletes quarters. Lewis shaped up and Ben shot in and clinched him using an underhook. From then on it was just a stand up wrestling match until Johnson got Lewis off balance and he fell over. The fight got broke up after that.

Lewis will not need a referee to tie Tyson up, except Tyson will need a referee to seperate the clinch to give him punching distance. Even an inside puncher like Tyson can't punch effectively from a clinch.

where Lennox stated that he spoke to Mike, (recently) and Mike said to Lennox that he was not interested in fighting him. (Given what has happened the last couple of years, that seems to be true). Mike stated he was happy collecting the dollars fighting the guys he was. (ie; Outsider bums)

Now in my opinion;

- Mike won't fight Lennox - EVER !
- He'll continue to get 20M fighting "bums" even though he has threatened to retire !
- 8 years ago - he could have destroyed Lennox
- If he fought Lennox now, he is not the same man and could be beaten!

In his Hey day, he would have killed Lennox.....but not now.

In boxing years Tyson is older... Tyson hasn't had to fight a real contender in a long time, his training is not as intense as Lewis, and tyson has had more fights that Lewis, which means more brain damage...

maybe more boxing years for tyson, but look at how many fights he has ended in the first round!!! he might have a long career, but not a lot of rounds, and surely not hit as much as the avg heavyweight.
