It's a controlled type of exercise. It's based on animal movement. It's kinda hard to explain, but an awesome workout. If you've seen the "Choke" video, Rickson is doing Ginastica Natural exercises on the beach. It's better to see what it is rather than someone trying to explain it. Hope this helps.

Default Ginastica vid

I have one of the instructional videos by Alvaro Romano (the one featured on the site with the blue cover) and it's ok. I think I paid close to 60 bucks for it and it's definately not worth that much (not many tapes are). It's in Portugese and it opens with an almost 7 minute music video of Alvaro crawling around the rainforest and beaches mimicing all sorts of animals. When he finally gets to the techniques it's pretty decent. I prefer the more practical movements that translate better to actual grappling as opposed to the 5 minutes spent on how to crawl like a leopard. The tape ends with another music video.

I think this guy has a newer English version. I don't think it's the same tape, but you can email him and ask, he's a real cool guy. http://www.jiujitsuprogear.com
