i guess this is a joke now.

no not exactly like BLOODSPORT.

i mean someone who travels and trains and teaches as a way of life.

i just wonder how increadably difficult that must be.

Shouldn't you, oh I don't know, START TRAINING before worrying about such things?

Don't worry, from what i've seen, jubajii is the resident dissident xenophobe. Pessimism is a distortion of reality. To simply say "you won't make it" is ridiculous. My martial arts instructor started at 30, and Loren Christensen the guy who wrote Solo Training and Solo Training 2( and a whole bunch of other stuff) started when he was 18. So yes you have to start training, yes you have to want it, and you have to not do something like get a girl pregnant or get yourself in jail. You may fail, accept that as a possibillity, but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Even if you don't get to live the life of a martial artist, There are many jobs that don't involve pusing a pen, you just have to be willing to go around and look, you might try camps and such. I've been a groundskeeper for a camp and I know that the instructors get enough to live on and have a pretty good time. Just don't give up, cause when you give up you fail. Chances are you'll meet plenty of people who get their kicks making fun of what you want to do. Just ignore them.

Go find a dojo today. You've gotta start soon.
Good Luck,
Eager_Neophyte

Default Reasoning behind "xenophobe" comment.

Well, most of the time your posts are directed at the newer users. I may be wrong, but I get the impression your one of those guys that finds a communitiy he likes and he feels confident in, and tries to run everyone else off (in less words: a xenophobe). Granted you could just be a sadist, or this could be an outlet for you to prove your intellectual superiority. I don't really know, but you have to wonder why someone would post so many post that have no purpose except to make fun of people. There's something abnormal about that.

Perhaps there's a reasonable explanation. If so feel free to provide it, and I will admit my error wholly and completely. If you don't really want to provide one, you could always make fun of me. Maybe the best choice would be just to drop it. Well I'm going to go eat lunch.
Take it easy,
Eager_Neophyte

hey thanks

yeah i do plan to find a niche in life, but im keeping this door open. i have a bunch of friends who love to grapple, and at the university i hope to find many guys who are willing to throw down. now to mention im joining a dojo ASAP and im gunna try to get a few of my boys in the same class, we would increase your talent a whole lot.

(waits for nihilistic comment)

I am one of the people who live the life of a martial artist.my mother and my father were killed by ninjas when i was a small boy. i grew up quickly in the orphanage and vowed to get there killers. when i turned 17 i set off across the country barefoot searching for the murderers. as i go from town to town i have been running into many small time thugs and gangsters. i will fight anyone i see who is disrespecting or doing wrong to others. i feel i am on the trail to the murderers and in a few years i should be able to locate them and avenge my parents deaths.
wait im sorry thats not me that was a kung fu episode i saw 15 years ago.
i suggest you go to the video store and see if you can rent them if you want to know the life of a martial artists because everyone i know that is a fighter is just a normal everyday person, not some comic book character that you want to turn ma's in to.

Your 'creative' application of terminology notwithstanding, I think you'll find I'm an equal opportunity offender.

Equal oppurtunity? No. In an argument reason is the great equalizer. It doesn't matter who one is or what one's past comments are as long as they make a series of logical and true statements. You avoid such debates because you know they're not your playing ground. You choose instead to take peices of post, however irrelevant, and (quite cleverly) criticize them solely on one point and ignore the evident logic in the statements you didn't bother to respond to. Then all your long time friends join in, and all the sycophants that just joined and want to be in good standing with the 2000+ posters.

If you really were interested in equality, you wouldn't use such tactics as, making fun of grammar and spelling when the intent of the message is clear. If you really were interested in equality, you would argue with the logic behind these statements instead of attacking the people who make them.

Lets act as if everyone does have an equal playing ground. Don't you find it strange that 90% or more of you're post have no other purpose except for stomping on people. No one else does that. You haven't been granted some special privelige to insult and humiliate your fellow humans. Yes, you are smarter than many of us, that's obvious. Yes, you are quick witted, but it's harmful for everyone, including yourself when you use your skills to patronize, mock, and belittle your weaker fellow posters.

It's like a 6'4 280 lb bully walking up to you hitting you and then telling you it's all fair cause you can hit him back. Equal oppurtunity? I think not

Eager_ Lymphocyte

Isn't the whole point of grammar and spelling to ensure that messages are clear?
