BJJ training for law enforecement dudes.

Last year when I was in Seattle the pigs were really bad to us. What I need to know is do they train in BJJ or are they just learning that BS cop restraint stuff that dont work?

Next time some pig puts me in some gay armlock for no reason im kicking his ass.

I believe some are trained in some sort of martial arts.

I know what you mean about cops hassling you,some cops are cool but then you get some on a serious POWER trip!Just use restraint and try not to fight back.

Most cops are nothing in my book!They are just a bunch of pricks who got picked on in high school and are hiding behind a badge.

Like I said there are good cops,but the majority of the ones I meet are power hungry losers!

Yeah dude. I've known some cool ones but a lot of them get on a power trip. Especially when they are in numbers, they rev each other up. I just want to know if its cool to break free from their holds because I know I can.

I'm sure that you'll be the focus of many of the cops and you'll get lit up big time.

I have many friends who are cops and they lay their life on the line, every day at work. You can say what you want, and many of these dudes are on a power trip, but they do their job so that we can sleep at night, not fearing of the scum and hoodlums out there that they do lock up and throw the keys away.

I've been rousted many times in the past, especially in high school, but I still don't have a hatred towards cops like many do.

There are a lot of police who train in BJJ exclusively. I knew some at a Rickson Gracie seminar a few years back.
In fact Rorion has his own training for police right?

Be warned though...BJJ doesn't put you in good positions when you have a gun strapped to your belt.

Man, don't ever let the cops get you on the ground. If they get you on the ground they can really f*ck you up without the cameras being able to see or anything.

What you got to do is scare them from taking you down. So when they are like running up to you, you gotta take like a martial arts stance so they know you mean business.

Then you gotta use every strike you know man to keep them from taking you down. If they take you down all your mobility is gone and more of them can pile on you.

You GOT to stay standing and that means hitting and kicking any of them that get close enough BEFORE they get ahold of you!

You know it is really interesting that you make that point, about your position with a pistol on your hip. I guess it kind of reverts to an earlier thread about positions.
I have never tried grappling with a pistol but I assume you are talking about the guard?

In this case proper position becomes incredibly important. I would think that being able to get to KOS or mount or side mount would be the best idea.

There was a time where I seriously considered becoming a police officer. I was even in the academy, but pulled out to keep on going to college...(we'll see how that turns out LOL)

But yeah, if you have a gun on your belt and you take someone down, the FIRST thing they'll do is try to take it from you. Grappling becomes very dangerous for police, and many of them use knee on stomach when they are arresting a resisting opponent. I've seen crossbody and mount used, but you have to understand that the cop is at a disadvantage because of the tools he carries that might be used against him.

I really do hope War Pig was just playing around!
If you get into a stance when the police are running at you, and start throwing punches....well getting shot will be the best thing that can happen to you...
