![]() | How do you get started in MMA? I've been in the martial arts for a few years (kung fu) but would like to compete a bit at "my level". How do you get started? Local Scrimmages? Any info would be awesome. I know it's a pretty vauge question. I did a bunch of searching on the forum but couldn't find a kind of "Start up" guide to getting into MMA. Any help would rock. Thanks, Jay Last edited by JFragment; 09-14-2005 at 03:08 PM. Reason: Wrong Title |

![]() ![]() ![]() | This is dead serious and im not trying to bash you or your kung fu.... But I would seriously consider doing some MMA practice before fighting... even if it only lets you know whats coming at you... with that said.... if you go to a local MMA place.. they usually have grappling tournaments... mma fights... things like that posted up all the time, I know my school does... the school I was at before I never heard of anything this place is holding its own tournaments... and has like 4 others posted up right now.

![]() | That's great info. Thanks! I am heading over to a local BJJ school for the trial week to see if I enjoy that as well as the Kung Fu. I would like to look into it and possibly compete a year from now so I definitely have my work cut out for me. Thanks again for the response. Jay |
