In terms of fighting 'someone who trained with Roger', that's about 25% of the BJJ players in the UK. I'm 'someone who trained with Royce, Helio, Rorion, and World Champs like Marcio Fetosa and Carlos Lemos' but I'm only a blue belt and have a long way to go in BJJ.

But you've earned my respect Gong Fu - WELL DONE for putting your arse on the line, and being honest about the result.

In terms of getting some MMA fights, it's tricky to jump straight in to a pro fight like the UK's Ultimate Combat/Cage Rage/Urban Destruction, but you could do the Combat Open Trials which are amateur rules. If you do well in those, you can use them as a stepping stone to a pro fight. You could try Charlie Mann. He runs the Trojan Freefighters Gym in Cheltenham where James Thompson (Pride fighter) and others train. He also runs the Urban Destruction events and is always on the lookout for talent. He has a couple of heavyweights, perhaps he'll be able to help you with a challenge match?

It may not be your cup of tea (ie. pure BJJ & no striking), but the London Open BJJ tourney is on saturday. It may be a good place to make some contacts. If you come along, I'll be with the guys from Gracie Barra Bristol. The details for the event can be found from a link on the gracie-barra.co.uk website.

I nver read this thread because I looked at the first post and thought "What a wanker". But my attention has been drawn to it in another thread.

Here's some comments.

Gongy here is certainly not the biggest wanker here. I don't know if he is genuine or not, but he comes across as having far more balls than the arse wipes who are bravely putting other people's names forward to fight him. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Gongy, like I said in the other thread. I'm no longer into sport. I'm into self protection. I am also in the cops. The only way I can fight (and keep the pension I am working towards) is to be in the process of defending myself.

I don't do rules though. I do "Don't fight me but, if you do, there are no rules". I only fight when I am forced to, and then I will do anything to win.

This seems a little out of the scope of what you are after but, one thing is for sure. I ain't running off.

And to those who put my name forwards? Be men, and restrict yourselves to putting your own name forwards. At least Gongy here has done just that.
