SWMA The Best Style
I guess I don’t understand all the contention between bjj vs. staying on your feet in a street fight? I’ve been in a lot of fights (unfortunately) and I’ve seen a lot of fights. I personally prefer a good ole stand up slobber knocker, but unfortunately the odds are it’s going to end up on the ground at some point at least 80% are going to the ground. Of coarse the UFC claims that 80% of their fights are on the mat, at least 80% I’ve seen and been in have been on the ground. Rather you have had your bell rung and go down or you’ve been forced down or fighting from the ground is your preference, chances are if you are not advanced at blocking a take down odds are you’re going to find yourself there at one time or another. Although I’m not a martial artist, I do know how to box and prefer a stand up fight, and my grappling skills have saved my ass on numerous occasions of coarse eye gouges, groin shots, hair pulling etc… also helps. I notice a lot of bjj supporters out here, and a lot of bjj non-supporters as well. Granted I don’t want to end up on the ground if I can help it but it seems to me that bjj is very effective add a little street savvy to it and it would be difficult to beat. Now we know that a street brawl vs. a regulated fight just can’t compare, yet to limit bjj effectiveness to the ring alone seems a little prejudicial, that’s like saying that a striker would do no good in a street fight. A street wise martial artist has all the advantages and disadvantages as a regular Joe and then some seeing that he has self-defense training regardless of his preferred style. Pitting one style against another and saying that one is superior seems foolish as that’s is determined by the individual eg.. experience, conditioning and heart. The same knives, broken bottles, bats and eye gouges that are available to the street rat are also available to bjj artist or any other preferred style. I know that this has been argued extensively and it’s getting old. Is there anyone that can agree with me on this? SWMA- Street Wise Martial Arts

...that experience count's the most.
I've seen two fight's only- and only one of them had more than one punch. i.e. 2.
