For those interesed in Grappling i suggest you check out some old school Catch Wrestling.Tony Cecchine has some of the best submission tapes out right now and i promise you that 95% of what is on his Lost Art Of Hooking tapes you have never seen before or even thought was possible.Tony's site is located at www.catchwrestle.com enjoy and leave some feedback.

oh man, im getting the catch wrestling book soon. I cant wait to see what differs in positioning and submissions and takedowns there are with catch/bjj.

You can't really learn grappling from tapes. You need an instructor and an uke. Striking and kicking is different; you can just kick a heavy bag.

i think its a given that you can't learn a martial art by just watching, you need an instructor to critique and inform you. however, you can pick things up from tapes and use them, but an instructor will aide you much more efficiently. Also, heavy bags are fine but you still need to learn to parry and block and hit openings and such, you need more than a bag and a tape to be a striker just as you need more than tapes to be a grappler. i think we can all agree on that

if you have experience or are very talented you can learn from tapes...besides u gotta b a tart not to learn at least one move n then drill it.
