Well, we have discussed Brazillian jujitsu, Japanese Jujitsu, Judo, ect, ect, ect, Now I am starting a discussion about Wally Jay and his son Professor Leon Jay.
I went to a seminar given by Leon Jay, and it was a decent seminar. {April 03} The Locks and holds did not appear much different from Japanese Jujitsu. Professor Jay has more emphasis on pressure points combined with the hold or lock. I really enjoyed the seminar and wanted to hear the forumn discuss Small Circle jujitsu. Wally Jay, has attempted to impove jujitsu by improving on the Fulcrum and making the movements of Jujitsu tighter. Most of his grappling seemed to focus on stand up stuff. In a Wally Jay video I saw Mr. Jay is doing a lot of Judo style throws. I haven't heard anyone in pride, ufc or K-1 claim to be a small circle jujitsu practitioner. The floor is open for comments. Criticsisim {sp} or Praise. Please keep in Mind that Mr. Wally Jay is damn near 80 years old and I ask everyone to be respectful with their comments.

I own wally jay's book on small circle jujitsu. It was a decent book, I found the wrist torque from pinkey to index finger a really great principle for extra leverage in wrist locks, finger locks, grabbing, throwing. I liked it. Gotta say it was a little: if he does this you do that. I mean wrist locks and stuff are good but you don't see anyone getting, wrist locked in the UFC. I know small joint manipulation is illegal but if you wrist lock someone they are going to nuts and swing wild. It's hard to control someone who's going animal with just a wrist lock. Controlling the pain your inflicting while someone is going absolutly ape is hard. I guess that ability comes with age and wisdom.

what effect do you think SCJJ would have on a guy from say a TKD or HKD background, someone who largly uses kicks for attacks and defense? since SCJJ focuses mainly on hand attack defenses and counters mostly from punches and grabs.
