Grappling Games, Las Vegas Feb 24th-25th

Machados are sponsoring this event, Saturday is scheduled for BJJ tournament, Sunday is no Gi, Abu Dhabi rules.

I thought that the BJJ tournament would be on Sunday and I would go to get my usual second place medal. (HA!)
But with the BJJ on Saturday, I doubt if I can leave work.
I almost always work on Saturdays.

So, who's going?

That's right, the old good news bad news.

In the last 2 tournaments I competed in, the good news is that I got 2nd place. The bad news is that there were only 2 people.

When you are in the Old Guys Division, not many dudes are competing past 40, although with this tournament, I think that there actually might be more than 2 guys in my weight division.

I went to a Karate tournament a few years ago and they had the biggest freakin trophies regardless of where you placed. There were dudes getting 2 foot high trophies for placing 4th out of 4 competitors.

Nobody left that dang tourny without some award!

And Ober: I'm pretty sure the question was, "What is best in life?".......

I'm pretty sure that my brother is going to compete in the no gi division. I may be there watching/filming this one. I also have a couple of other friends that are going to be there as well (the blue belt from John Lewis's school that I train with should be competing).

They tried to get me to enter this one, but man I'm not ready for that kind of commitment

I'll start entering someday, though. Hopefully before I reach the 40+ divisions
