Had my first wrestling match for this season tonight. I teched the kid I went against. I put in legs and spladled him twice but time ran out every time I pinned him with it. After the match I went to the lockerroom and checked my tongue because it stung a little bit. So apparently I bit my tongue at one point and split it(the wound is on the side of the tongue) Now there's like a hole in my tongue. Should I get it stitched up or just let it heal on its own? Should I do anything to it at all? Help please

Is it still bleeding? How much? Don't go to sleep with your tongue bleeding.

Personally, if it's bad enough to cause you to be this concerned, I would just get it checked out to be safe. The last thing you'd want is for it to get infected.

Ok so here's what happened the hole sealed itself off this morning. Now there's just chunks of tongue hanging on to dear life to my tongue.

That remark was either too complex or too simple for me. We were talking about here's what happened the hole sealed itself off this morning.

Sooner you see a doctor the better, if it heals wrong it will be far harder to correct then if you take care of it now.

Hole is gone and the wound is almost completely sealed up. I competed at a wrestling tournament friday and saturday with it, it was fine. Pinned one kid with a head and arm, beat another by score, and lost in the championship finals. So I placed second, bah maybe I'll get 1st next time.

yeah buddy, don't worry about the doctor. I ran into the vault with my face at full sprint one night about 4 years ago, I bit 4 holes in my tounge almost chomping it in half. Didn't go to the doctor, your mouth is the fastest healing part of your body, or so i've heard. I'm fine, and it seems to me you are.
