Fighters might get stereotyped as lunk heads but they usually know better...

Smoking takes a lot out of your stamina, cuts your wind, and tightens blood vessels. It definately works against you. I am sure there are some fighters out there who smoke but they are probably the exception, not the rule. It actually makes very little sense to me for someone to spend hours at the gym, hours at the dojo, pay attention to their diet, and then turn around and destroy their lungs with Cigarrettes.
Oh well to each his own.

I'm pretty sure that Sakuraba smokes, and smokes a lot.

It really goes against you though.

Yeah, Sakuraba smokes and drinks. He's been over training with Chute Boxe in Brazil and he quit smoking for a couple of months and was only having a couple of beers at weekends. They told him he needed to get better stamina before he fought Shamrock.

Fist

keep in mind that smoking bud and smoking tobacco do completely different things to your lungs. u can still keep your stamina and even improve your cardio skills despite smoking bud, however tobacco really just rapes your lungs, your heart, and your blood vessels. ive been smoking bud since before i started training and my cardio has only gotten better since i started. i dont touch tobacco though.

No, bud does hurt the lungs believe me. Im not sure where that myth came from but putting any kind of smoke into your lungs hurts them. It cannot give you lung cancer but it hurts the efficiency quite a bit.

Been smoking for a long time now, I dont see myself quitting but don't fool yourself into thinking it doesnt hurt you. Slows your thinking down as well, everyone that smokes will tell you how bad their short term memory is. But stop smoking for a month and your back to regular brain activity again. I don't know how many times I have lost things just putting them down and forgetting where I put them 10 secs later.

smoking weed is at least 20 times more expensive than cigarettes, and 4 times more harmful to your lungs. do some research bitches.

There is research that says it worse and its better. So it all depends on what you read. I don't think its really been decided which is worse but you cannot get lung cancer from weed. There are no carcinigens(sp) as there are in cigs.
