Default hey all, I got a q

hey all, sorry to bother anyone here but I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I'm 18 turning 19 pretty soon and need some tips for training. I stopped truly practicing martial arts about 2 years ago and played tennis for my high school. I would practice tkd on and off, you know, some kicks every now and then. Now I'm in college and well, packed on the typical freshmen 15. =( anyways, I also started lifting as well, (just not intensely) I don't want to gain anymore more mass, I just want to lose fat and build strength. So my question to everyone here is if they know any tips or routine I can use to lose fat as well as train my martial arts. Its hard for me now since I'm back at home but at my college has a heavy bag that I would use to kick. However I don't know how to use the bad effectively, I mainly use it for my power roundhouse and punching. I also need help with grappling since I've only taken tkd.

Thank you

Well, buddy... I'll give it to ya straight.

No one on here can help you lose weight, since we're not there to motivate you.

No one on here can help you learn to grapple, since trying to teach someone "how to grapple" on the internet is insanely difficult.

No one can provide you with a routine, because as an individual, you may have physical impediments beyond internet help.

So in the end, I only have one question for you... Do you live in the civilized world where they have health clubs, martial arts gyms and such? Because if you do... I'm just saying "if" they exist in your country, neighborhood, or whatever, I'd give them a call.

High Intensity Interval training. Road work, jump rope, bike, stuff like that.

Cut the beer and the fast food. 2 hours of intense cardio everyday. Works for me.

hey, yes I do understand that no will be there to help and motivate me except myself, but what I'm asking for are tips. I'm a college student and joing a gym costs a lot of money which I don't have at all right now.

i saw some a vid of yuen biao (i think) training, and he was doing light weights with lots of reps really fast, it also mentioned that this is how bruce lee trained, as it develops strenght and speed with having the bulk to slow you down.

I am also considering training like this, as i have tried bulking up in the past and my body just wasnt up for it, i have a small frame, so i think it might be more productive to just concentrate on getting stronger and more toned.

TSD is both a hard and soft style, derriving hardness from Soo Bahk, and soft flowing movements from Northen Chinese systems.

edit:I cant belive i bought into this ^ lies, lies. TSD is shotokan with a Korean name and an emphasis on hip movement.
