We all follow the rules in our MA, at least i hope we do. These rules are written down and are for our own safety, but then there are those 'unwritten' rules, do you have unwritten rules at your school? if so what are they?

We observe Chinese etiquette in class. That means that you salute when you enter the school, and the first thing you do is find our Shr fu and salute him. We address each other in Chinese as senior/junior brother/sister as appropriate, which is Shr Shong, Shr Dei, Shr Jei and Shr Mei. You never walk in front of someone who is practicing form or Lion Dance. If there is something to be done- equipment to be moved, trash to be picked up etc. you volunteer to do it. Sometimes we will vacuum the floor and windex the mirrors after class. Personally I really enjoy getting to experience a taste of another culture that way. It def. makes the difference between the school feeling like just a gym where people go to exercise and being a close-knit community.

The one thing I miss most about Wing Chun was the fact that after training we'd all go out together and yum cha. Which I was surprised to learn in their case meant Burger King more often than not.
