Gracies recently have not had any success in MMA.

Dude i dont know maybe you did bad in high school but you need to learn how to read.I give the Gracies all the credit in the world they are legends...but in no way shape or form can they compete with any of the top level guys...new generation or not...they will not be as well rounded.Real NHB with no time limit..yea im sure he will hold on to anyone for an hour...thats a real fight.

I think you need the reading comprehension lessons, bub... All the Gracies cross-train today. Ever hear of Rodrigo Gracie? They guy does wrestling, boxing, judo, MT and has beaten some tough fighters. The Gracies train just like anyone else, but their core training involves BJJ. Why don't you do a little research before you go off on a tangent?...

I usted to train with Rodrigo Gracie before he moved to Cali...and yes he is well rounded but he got beat by B.J Penn.I have more real exp being with a Gracie then you so i have first hand exp not just some post on the internet my friend...so i have my facts right.You have your head so far up your ass that you seem to skip over the whole point of my posts so ill just sum it up for you.The gracies are great....they are legends...but they can not beat top level guys...like BJ PENN who beat rodrigo and renzo...kid beat royler and so did genki...royce was defeated by saku...renzo defeated by saku oyama hendo bj among others...corsley the new generation guy was beat by akihiro gono...so im trying to say that the gracies CAN compete with guys...just NOT THE BEST.

Royce always complained about time limits. But it raises a question if you can't make techniques work in a certain amount of time what good are they? I mean 30 minutes is not a short time for grappling and as you stated some have lasted for more than 1 hour. So where is the line between skill/technique/fighter and just being able to capitalize on exhaustion. Hey if kimo cut his hair and the cardio a little better it may have been a different outcome (of course I only mean the first fight).


In Royce's defense I think people should realize that the original UFC had no weight classes but also was tournament style so there may have been as many as 3 fights a night. Talk about Royce or some of the earlier competitors but I doubt you will find may of the current competitors that could handle that format
